Tourism

The Chambers of Commerce (COC) advise their member companies from the tourism industry on a variety of themes. Together with other players, we have developed promising general conditions for the Tourist Economy in Hesse, strengthening the power of competition of the regional tourist industry.

To update and standardize their positions and activities, the Chambers of Commerce in Hesse have drafted their “Political Position with respect to Tourism ”(PDF). Concerning different relevant themes, we have additionally described our current situation and the position of the COCs in Hesse. We see potential in assisting the Tourism of Hesse through joint and targeted actions.

We stand up for a good tourist infrastructure. The basis is a well-thought-out Tourism concept which we support. Examples for this you will find here:

ServiceQuality Germany refers to a quality management system in the area of service that so far has been introduced in 13 German states. It has been designed for companies in the tourism industry. Major focus is put on the development of a strategy focusing on the individual characteristics of the respective company.

ServiceQuality Germany offers three steps based on each other according to which the company can be certified.

  • Step I: The company – together with its employees – evaluates all internal and external processes from a tourist’s point of view. In doing so, the company will come up with own strategies to develop the service quality of the company.
  • Step II: The company is submitted to an on-going, more thorough and impartial test. Additionally, elements such as customer-, employee-, and leadership polls are integrated as well as a Mystery Check.
  • Step III: This step can be attained if – in addition to the participation in ServiceQuality Germany - an acknowledged Management System has been established or is being established in the company.

In Hesse, the kick-off for ServiceQuality Germany was on January 1st 2009. The COCs in Hesse act as co-operating partners of the Hesse Tourist Association.

Further information on the ServiceQuality program, dates and the possibility to register for seminars, you will find under www.sq-hessen.de

There are subsidies available in form of Qualification Checks if you want to offer trainings to your employees.

Your Contact persons at the COC are Dr. Frank Wendzinski and Jessica Volke

Dienstleistungskonzessionen – Klare Regelung erforderlich
