Administration:
Internal organisation and data administration
"Join – act – win“: This is how the Gießen-Friedberg Chamber of
Industry and Commerce (CIC) invites all its members to take part in
the Chamber’s activities and to make a difference. It is our goal
to let as many companies as possible benefit from our services, so
they can increase their own benefits.
What role does the division “Central Tasks” of the CIC
Gießen-Friedberg play in all this? And how can you contribute to
make a difference?
The division “Central
Tasks” is there to establish an efficient internal infrastructure
thus setting the basis for the successful work of the Chamber of
Industry and Commerce Gießen-Friedberg. This division is
responsible for human resources, company data, contribution fees,
financial accounting, data processing and internal service/facility
management.
Good Data Quality supports Business
Development
The CIC sees itself as a modern service provider –
in particular for its nearly 40,000 business members. It is usually
the division “Central Tasks” that has the first contact with a new
member company. As soon as the entrepreneur has registered his
business at the Office of Trade at the local municipality or the
business has been admitted to the Trade Register at the district
court, the CIC is being informed of the start-up. Likewise, these
authorities convey data about data about changes in the businesses
to the CIC or as the case may be any requests to deregister the
business. This data is being taken up into the CIC’ s own company
data bank. Thus the CIC holds a current register of all their
member businesses.
The high quality of the data is of particular interest to the
CIC members since the member businesses may use this data for
business initiation. In order to constantly up-date the quality of
the data, the CIC depends on the assistance of their member
businesses. Please participate and communicate to us all relevant
data which holds priority for a business development, such as
telephone and fax number, Internet and email address. Contact
partner in the company data administration is Sabrina Ludwig,
telephone number: 0641/ 7954-1665.
Future-oriented
Self-Management
It is important that the local businessmen “roll up
their sleeves” and take an active role in their local economy.
State President of Hesse, Roland Koch, has confirmed this in the
preamble of the CIC’ s mission statement. Self-management can save
cost in comparison to management by the state. Compulsory
membership in the CIC secures political neutrality and guarantees
the independence of single and branch interests. Thus, the
interests of all companies will be equally represented. The CIC
receives no financial support from the state. Dues, fees,
contribution and other earnings allow the CIC to self-finance its
work.
Accounting as a Company
The CIC accounting team handles all fiscal relevant procedures.
At the beginning of 2007, the CIC Gießen-Friedberg introduced a
double-entry accounting system with cost and activity accounting
called “Doppik”. Using this accounting system, the CIC receives
significant data for the calculations of dues and fees. If
politically possible, dues and fees should be cost-effective.
Hence, subsidization - for example by contributions- can be avoided
as far as possible. Plus, all costs are allocated by the
costs-by-cause principle. Within the framework of
Strategic-CIC-Management (SCM), the CIC has initiated a project
called “Costs and Yield Management”. Through constant cost control
and the search for possible savings potential, the project supports
the strategic goal of a well-balanced CIC economic plan without
increasing contributions. An efficient management of finances that
factors in the earnings side also adds to this goal.
Efficient Infrastructure through modern
IT-Technology
At the CIC, data
processing takes on a significant role as it does in all modern
companies. Communication methods such as emails and Internet have
had a lasting effect on every day office life and are no longer
inconceivable. To recognize trends in the ever fast-moving
IT-development and to reasonably set them up is a constant
challenge to the employees in data processing. Qualified
information conveys competitive advantages to CIC member companies.
For example, members can register for a cost-free
newsletter-service. Those interested in specific topics can order
specialized newsletters at http://www.giessen-friedberg.ihk.de/
. RSS-feeds can be used as well. Using this service, interested
users can pick up exactly the information they need. And they can
decide for themselves when and how often they want to be informed
about any recent news. Please look at the CIC‘ s homepage for
further details.
Customer-Oriented Service instead of
Bureaucracy
Qualified and motivated employees are the key to successful
work. Hence, human resources development is an essential topic in
every company. In order to live up to the ever-growing demands, the
CIC constantly develops and improves the quality profile of our
employees.
Customer satisfaction is our top priority. The employees of the
CIC Gießen-Friedberg are the contact persons for the entrepreneurs
and support them in all needs and wishes. The needs of the customer
are the benchmark. Therefore, the CIC employees point out the
extensive services they have to offer to any entrepreneur who turns
to them for help.
The work of the CIC lives from the experiences and knowledge of
our members. Join in and make a difference!
